Heat Waves
they never get easier to deal with
This is part one of a two-part story. Part 2 is about losing pets. I was trying to do both in one post, but couldn’t make it work for me — it was too upseting — and so I procrastated on both — for many months. I’ll post a link here when the pet one is published.
And now that I have procrastinated into a chilly December, I’m finding it easier to write about those past heat waves!
WE’RE HAVING A HEAT WAVE — A LONG HEAT WAVE
I’ve always had an issue with hot days—those over 85 degrees as I tend to get heat exhaustion symptoms and/or pass out easily in that heat.
I’ve learned over time that with each heat wave, my symptoms come on faster, last longer, and are often worse.
I’ve also learned that as we age, symptoms come on faster, last longer, and are often worse.
So — duh — a double whammy. On top of this — as the years go on — we have more and hotter waves each year!
A triple whammy!!!
This is how the last few decades felt to me — it is not based on any actual statistics — but we do have more hot days each year!!
