I Tagged You! Now Read My Story!

Nothing makes one feel better than to get an email from Medium that somebody mentioned you in a story. Yeah right.

What it usually means is that someone wrote a story and tagged lots of people — your name among them — hoping that you will read their story and they will get claps and money.

There are some who nag — oops — tag me and I know the list that they are using. I’m not a member of the group that they got my name from but I used to be so I know they are just copying and pasting — without editing.

That sadly, tells me about the person tagging me — and what it says is:

Then there are others I have never heard of and they have something like a few hundred followers — but follow thousands.

There’s nothing wrong with having a few hundred followers and following thousands — but these people put posts out there saying great things about “other writers” and then add a list of what looks like several hundred people — and write only to say that you should read everything the tagged…
