I’ll Remember That When I Wake Up

I am an active dreamer and rememberer of dreams.

This started when I was in graduate school [in psychology] and we talked about dreams in classes, over coffee, and with beers. Apparently if you talk and discuss your dreams — you tend to remember them more.

I was probably an active dreamer when I was younger but the thought of keeping track of them back then never crossed my mind — as far as I can recall at this point.

Over my many years I have kept track of dreams when I remember to do so. I have even written about how to remember your dreams and interpret them — but do I follow my own rules? Of course not!

I try — but I am only human — and that's why I often tell myself “no need to take notes about this dream or thought because I'll remember it when I wake up — it's that good.”

Yea! Right!!

Recently [A.G.A.I.N.] I had what I thought was a brilliant idea about how to word something on my website or how to beautifully word an article about something — and it was just this absolutely brilliant thought. I remembered my sort-of-aware self saying: you ought to wake your phone up and leave a reminder or a note. But my…
