I keep thinking I'm going to write about “the move.” I wrote about it while I was packing but I did not write about it while I was crossing the country nor have I written about it after I landed.

I've decided I'm not ready to write about it for a lot of reasons but I am ready to write about what I did with my head when the rest of everything else still felt so stressful. I figured that might be more helpful to other people.

Bitching about the move is only a little bit helpful to me and I've done enough about that to friends so I don't need to do it here.

It was very hard to get back into anything resembling a work mode after I got to my new place. There were a lot of reasons for the that and I'm not going into it here — but most of them were meanderings in my head that I had to figure out.

One of the things that I decided was that instead of constantly telling myself how stressed I was about the move was to say:

Hey you're in a nice place, you unpacked your computer, your pets are happy — so why not imagine that you are at a place that's pretty awesome and where you are engaged in a working retreat. A retreat where you basically
