UGH: I’m Becoming a Hypochondriac

I have most always been a person who plays sports when achy, am boringly healthy, never getting really sick, think my immune system is in great working order, see physician visits as generally not necessary— BUT — along came Covid-19 and I am turning into a hypochondriac.

It’s not just me, it’s my friends as well — those who are also healthy, play when achy, etc, types — like me…that’s a large part of why we are friends. But we are all in that Medicare age range+ and keep getting the message that we are more likely to die if we get this virus.

Stay home, stay away from everyone, shop online, be afraid, very afraid — that is the message!

When we chat, we laugh about it — and say we are taking precautions but living life. We are not staying inside our abodes 24/7 but also not doing all the things we normally might be doing — like skiing, hiking, or going to the shore, etc.

And when the conversations turn more serious we all admit that we are taking our temperatures frequently and wondering if the sneeze or cough means anything more than…
